IDW Publishing announced its next 30th anniversary one-shot comic, spotlighting the Chaotix trio of Charmy Bee, Espio the Chameleon, and Vector the Crocodile.

What's next: The publisher also mentioned a Shadow the Hedgehog one-shot, potentially referencing The Best of Shadow comic book collection, scheduled for a January 2025 release.

  • Sonic's 100th issue is on track for a 2026 release, aligned with the franchise's 35th anniversary celebrations.

The reveal came within the end note of the 30th Anniversary special issue for Knuckles the Echidna, released on 20 November.

But Sonic’s story isn’t coming to an end anytime soon, and as we head into 2025, we’re thrilled to have comics coming from other amazing Sonic creators you know and love.

In addition to the ongoing series continuing in issues #76 and beyond, we’ve got a Shadow one-shot following on the heels of the Sonic 3 movie coming out this December.

2025 is also a big year for the Chaotix, as the detective team races toward their 30th anniversary! Vector, Espio, and Charmy can always be trusted to get to the bottom of a mystery, so don’t miss out on what our intrepid investigators are up to in their 30th Anniversary Special.
